Freelance Python Developer – Quantitative Equity Research (Remote)
Team: Bastion Quant
Location: Remote
Commitment: Freelance / Project-Based
We’re looking for a solid Python developer to work with us at Bastion Quant, our in-house quantitative equity research platform focused on the Indian markets.
If pandas is your playground, and you enjoy building tools that turn raw data into actionable insight—this might be fun.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain Python-based quant screens and models using financial data.
- Automate routine data pulls, backtests, and reports.
- Work closely with our research team to translate logic into clean, efficient code.
- Occasionally debug mysterious errors at odd hours (okay, rarely—but it happens).
What We’re Looking For
- Strong grip on Python, especially pandas, NumPy, and matplotlib/seaborn.
- Experience with APIs, web scraping, and handling large datasets.
- Comfort with basic financial statements and Indian equity market data is a huge plus.
- Clean, well-documented coding style (we love readable code more than clever hacks).
- Bonus if you’ve worked on backtesting frameworks like bt, backtrader, or zipline.
What You’ll Get
- Real-world exposure to quant investing in Indian markets.
- Flexible work hours (you decide when and where).
- A chance to shape tools used by serious investors—not just dashboards for vanity metrics.
- Long-term collaboration opportunity if things click.
